Bakthan Singaram, B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D. Professor of Chemistry, UCSC Professor Singaram is a world-renowned expert in boron based chemistry and has many patents in this area covering both new reactions and new materials. His areas of interest and specific applications include silicon hydrides, stereospecific reactions, safer and more selective reducing reagents, organic light-emitting diodes, and glucose sensing. Dr. Singaram has been a full professor at UCSC for 13 years and has received numerous citations including the UCSC Outstanding Teaching Award. Prior to coming to UCSC in 1989, Dr. Singaram studied under and later directed the research group of Nobel laureate H. C. Brown at Purdue University. |
