Bailey’s background began in government affairs, developing predictive models for voting behavior and managing political campaigns with the firm of Spencer-Roberts in Los Angeles. There he worked with statewide bond issues for the University of California, worked with then Governor Ronald Reagan on turning around the balance in the California legislature and managed campaigns for the District Attorney of Los Angeles as well as U.S. Senate and Congressional campaigns. He joined Searle Pharmaceuticals in governmental relations at the state and national levels, working with product approvals and anti-substitution legislation initiatives. During that time, he worked for Donald Rumsfeld, CEO of Searle. Bailey was involved with real estate development in the Southern California area doing small residential developments and later became associated with Lincoln Property Company, a national developer of multi-family housing. At Lincoln, he was responsible for locating and structuring land acquisition and planning for large apartment developments in California and Nevada. Bailey now runs his own property development company with Richard Cavalli. |
