Professor Avtandil Alexandrovish Koridze graduated from the Moscow Institute of Petrochemical and Gas Industry in 1962, in the rank of engineer of oil and gas refining. Professor Koridze earned a Ph.D. degree in organometallic chemistry from the Moscow Institute of Petrochemical and Gas Industry in 1969.
In 1988 he became a Doctor of Sciences at the A.N. Nesmeyanov Institute of Organo-Element Compounds of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow where he is currently Head of Laboratory of Organometallic Cluster Chemistry. He is a specialist in organometallic chemistry of transition metals, having approximately 150 publications in chemical journals, including the Russian Chemical Bulletin; the Journal of the Chemical Society Chemical Communications;
Organometallics; and the Journal of Organometallic Chemistry.
His fields of specialty include transition metal clusters, activation of
hydrocarbons by transition metal complexes, and intramolecular
rearrangements in organometallic complexes
