Dr. Attila Freska joined American Capital in 2004 as Director of International Business Development, and has over 18 years of experience in international business and entrepreneurial ventures. Dr. Freska's experience has focused on international business expansions, corporate restructurings, mergers & acquisitions, and outsourcing in a variety of industries. Prior to joining American Capital, Dr. Freska worked with the Management Consulting arm of Deloitte & Touche in Silicon Valley, facilitating significant private placements, debt financings, and pre-IPO planning for clients primarily in the technology arenas.
Before his tenure in Silicon Valley, Dr. Freska worked in senior financial management roles for Owens-Illinois and Johnson & Johnson in Central & Eastern Europe. This work focused on expansion through M&A, restructurings, cost reduction through outsourcing, and production rationalization. Dr. Freska also assisted with Johnson & Johnson's startup activities in Eastern Europe and arranged much of their extensive contract manufacturing in Hungary.
Dr. Freska is also cofounder of an engineering advisory firm which provides Outsourcing and Contract Manufacturing services in Eastern Europe and Asia for clients including Mattel Toys, Teleflora, Pelican Products, Baxter Laboratories.
With multiple presentations and publications in the field of International Finance, Dr. Freska has taught graduate level finance at UC Berkeley, Fisher Graduate School of International Management, Monterey Institute, U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, and Golden Gate University. Dr. Freska holds a Ph.D. in International Business and Finance from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences, MBA in International Management from the Monterey Institute of International Studies, and BA in International Relations from California State University Long Beach. Dr. Freska also holds the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation granted by the Institute of Certified Management Accountants. |
