Arthur Rhein is chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Agilysys, Inc., a $1.4 billion distributor and premier reseller of enterprise computer technology solutions. In addition, the Company provides customer-centric software applications and services focused on the retail and hospitality markets. As a member of the management team for more than 20 years, he has played a key role in shaping the Company’s direction and in developing and solidifying its position as a leader in bringing new technology solutions to the marketplace.
Mr. Rhein was named president and chief executive officer in April 2002 after serving as president and chief operating officer since 1997. He was elected chairman effective April 30, 2003. As part of a strategic transformation, the Company divested its electronics components distribution business in early 2003 to focus solely on enterprise computer technology solutions and changed its name from Pioneer-Standard Electronics to Agilysys, Inc.
Mr. Rhein joined Agilysys in 1981, when the Company acquired his former employer, where he was vice president of marketing and previously held extensive sales and marketing responsibilities. He served as vice president of the Northeast region of Agilysys until 1986, when he was named senior vice president of marketing. He was named to the Board of Directors in 1990, and his responsibilities were expanded to include sales in 1991.
Mr. Rhein serves on the Kichler Lighting Board of Directors, the Magirus Board of Directors, the Orbit International Corporation Board of Directors, and on the Executive Committee of the Global Technology Distribution Council. |
