Arthur Nadata began his career in electronics distribution in 1964 when he joined Diplomat Electronics. He held a number of different positions in varying degrees of increasing responsibility and worked his way from sales to Corporate Vice President of Sales and Marketing. After Diplomat was sold in 1981 Arthur began a start-up Electronic Component Distribution facility with two partners in October 1982. He has been President and Director of Nu Horizons Electronic Groups since 1982 and in 1996 became President and CEO. On June 1 2004 Arthur took over the role of Chairman of the Board and is currently Chairman and CEO.
Mr. Nadata is the only nominee to have been twice awarded the "Entrepreneur of the Year" Award in New York State: once in 1993 for Wholesale Distribution and again in 1996 as Master Entrepreneur. In 2000 Nu Horizons Electronics Corp. was named "Best Managed Company" by Electronic Buyers News and listed on Fortune's "100 Fastest Growing Companies" in America. Mr. Nadata was most recently honored in November 2001 by North Shore University Hospital on Long Island. Born in Brooklyn NY he currently resides on Long Island with his wife and has two grown children.
