Arthur Martinez was appointed to the Supervisory Board in 2002. He was reappointed in 2006 and was then also elected as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. His current term expires in 2010.
Mr Martinez makes a valuable contribution to the Supervisory Board due to his extensive experience as a CEO in the US and broad knowledge of US financial markets. He is Chairman of the Supervisory Board's Nomination & Compensation Committee Chairman of its Compliance Oversight Committee and member of its Audit Committee.
Mr Martinez is a former Chairman and CEO of Sears Roebuck & Co. Inc (1995-2000) and a former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago. Between 1992 and 1995 he served as Chairman and Chief Executive of Sears Merchandise Group after a career at Saks Fifth Avenue New York starting in 1980 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
