Arthur Kelly has been a managing partner of KEL Enterprises, L.P., a private entity investment partnership, since 1982. Previously he had been with LaSalle Steel Company from 1975-1981, serving on its board and successively holding positions as the company's vice president, executive vice president, president, and C.O.O. Prior to joining LaSalle Steel Company, he had been with A.T. Kearney, Inc., an international management consultant, for 16 years.
Kelly holds a bachelor's degree from Yale University, and a master's of business administration from the University of Chicago.
He serves on the boards of directors of Bayerische Motoren Werke (BMW) A.G., BASF Aktiengesellschaft, DataCard Corporation, Northern Trust Corporation, and Snap-On Incorporated. He also is a member of several boards for committees and foundations associated with the University of Chicago.
