Art Mitchell is the Chief Financial Officer for Alyeska Pipeline Service Company. He served as the acting CFO for six months prior to his permanent appointment in June 2001. After 25 years with BP, Art joined Alyeska as the Manager, Commercial and Strategic Planning in May 1997. Art was later hired to serve as the Administration Manager for Alyeska’s Valdez Business Unit until December 2000.
As Chief Financial Officer, Art has accountability for Accounting, Audit, Business Planning, Commercial, Information Technology, and Strategic Planning with some accountability in the Fairbanks and Valdez offices. As a member of the Alyeska Pipeline Executive Team, Art develops and implements corporate strategies that will achieve the company’s strategic goals.
Art has over 30 years of diversified financial and management experience in the upstream oil and gas exploration and production business including staff, line and project positions the last six years in the pipeline transportation segments of the industry. He has extensive financial management background with skills at accomplishing strategic organizational goals and performance with proven value-added results.
Art holds an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from South Carolina State University and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, NJ.
Art is actively involved in the local community. He is the founder and officer of the PREEMPT organization. He serves on the Salvation Army Advisory Board and donates countless hours as the Chairman of Clitheroe Advisory Council.
Art has been a resident of Alaska since 1985. He and his wife Alanda have two children. |
