Mr. Brier is a Shareholder in the Santa Barbara office of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck and a member of the Real Estate Group, and the Corporate & Business Department. His practice focuses on corporate law, international business, commercial real estate and employment law. Mr. Brier provides general counsel services for small and mid-sized companies and also represents clients in mergers and acquisitions, asset sales, and business and real estate transactions. Mr. Brier brings more than 20 years experience to a variety of corporate, tax and real estate contexts. He has been directly involved with all aspects of domestic and international operations ranging from company acquisitions to worldwide corporate restructurings to employee relations and investigations to environmental audits. His work has included coordinating the overseas and domestic restructuring of a multinational corporation, which led to an estimated $1.5 million annual savings for the company. He has negotiated numerous international oil exploration joint ventures and acquisitions in Western Africa, South America, the Far East and Europe. In the U.S., he has negotiated and completed asset and stock acquisitions of companies in the software and real estate industries among others. Prior to joining the Brownstein team, Mr. Brier served as general counsel to a telecommunications company, senior counsel to a Fortune 5 company and assistant general counsel to a multinational corporation. Mr. Brier’s experience as an in-house attorney managing multi-million dollar legal budgets provides him a unique perspective on the needs facing the firm’s clients. |
