Current responsibility
Aree is an actuary with the Health practice in the Denver office of Milliman. She joined the firm in 2002.
Experience
Aree has a wide range of experience in the health and pension insurance industries in the U.S. as well as Brazil and Chile. She spent two years with Milliman working in the São Paulo, Brazil office. Her work experience includes managed care pricing and reserving, managed care modeling, long-term disability reserving, group health financial reporting, and pension financial reporting. Her insurance product experience includes HMO and other managed care products, long-term disability, defined benefit, and defined contribution pension products.
Prior to joining Milliman, Aree worked for a domestic health insurer, leading the pricing and projecting of their HMO product, including profitability analysis. She also coordinated pricing projects with additional managed care projects. Prior to that, Aree also worked in CIGNA's Retirement and Investment Services division, directing the management reporting for all products and analysis in conjunction with Stat and GAAP financial reports. She worked on various short-term health projects in Brazil and Chile for CIGNA International. Prior to that, she worked in CIGNA's Healthcare Division, managing the pricing and monitoring the earnings of major HMO domestic markets. She also spent time on the financial reporting side, overseeing the reserving methods and producing Stat and GAAP reporting for the group long-term disability product.
Aree is proficient in Portuguese, Spanish, and German.
