joined Kamakura Corporation in January 1997 as a Vice President to serve as product manager for all Kamakura software products in North America. Mr. Tavakol's responsibilities include serving as liaison between Kamakura's software developers and clients. Mr. Tavakol, promoted to Managing Director in charge of Client Technical Services, is now responsible for product design, quality control, documentation, implementation, training, software support, and related consulting projects.
Prior to joining Kamakura Corporation, Mr. Tavakol spent almost three years at Treasury Services Corporation in product development, marketing, documentation, and support capacities. A primary responsibility was his role as product manager for the TSER/Option-Adjusted Valuation module, the Treasury Services version of Kamakura Risk Manager. This responsibility was part of a development partnership between Treasury Services and Kamakura Corporation.
Mr. Tavakol has ten years of experience working at financial institutions in California. From 1991 to 1994, he was vice president and manager in the corporate finance department of Fidelity Federal Bank with responsibility for developing and implementing analytical tools and models for senior management. From 1989 to 1991, he served as a senior financial analyst at First Interstate Bank of California in various capacities relating to risk management software modeling and analysis. From 1985 to 1989, Mr. Tavakol was a commercial lending officer at Bank of America.
Mr. Tavakol received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1990. He also holds a Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, which he received in 1986. Mr. Tavakol graduated magna cum laude from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics in 1985. Mr. Tavakol has spent much of his life in Iran and speaks Farsi fluently. |
