Rolle played in just five games as a rookie due to a left knee injury; after suffering the injury @ Sea (9/25) he returned to the field nine weeks later vs. Was (12/11) and started the following week @ Hou (12/18) but swelling in the knee sidelined him for the final two games of ‘05.
Returned in 2006 to start all 16 games and finished fourth on the team with 87 tackles.
Pro Career:
The Cardinals first pick in the 2005 NFL Draft (eighth overall), Rolle was impressive in the first three games of his rookie season before suffering a left knee injury which required surgery and kept him on the sidelines for nine games. He returned to the field on 12/11 vs. Washington and made the start the following week in Houston but swelling in his knee kept him out of the final two games of the season. With his knee finally healthy, came back and started all 16 games of the 2006 season.
2006: Started all 16 games in his second season, finishing fourth on the team with 87 tackles led the team with eight total tackles and two passes defensed in the season opener vs. SF (9/10) recorded four tackles and one pass defensed @ Sea (9/17) collected five tackles vs. StL (9/24) recorded five tackles, including one for a loss, @ Atl (10/1) had eight solo tackles and one pass defensed vs. KC (10/8) played a solid game on Monday Night vs. Chi (10/16) logging two passes defensed and three tackles led all defensive backs with seven total tackles @ Oak (10/22) recorded five tackles and one pass defensed vs. Dal (11/12) tied for team lead among defensive backs with six tackles vs. Det (11/19) tied for second on the team with nine tackles, also adding one pass defensed @ Min (11/26) tallied five tackles and his first career forced fumble vs. Sea (12/10) tied his career high with 11 tackles with one pass defensed vs. Den (12/17) turned in his best performance of the year with two tackles, one pass defensed, one forced fumble and a fourth quarter interception off of Alex Smith, his first of the year, @ SF (12/24) totaled three tackles in the season finale @ SD (12/31).
2005: The second cornerback taken in the 2005 Draft behind West Virginia’s Adam Pacman Jones (sixth overall, Tennessee) and the first CB taken by the Cardinals in the first round since Tom Knight in 1997 made his NFL debut @ NYG (9/11) and recorded one tackle notched six solo tackles in the home opener vs. StL (9/18) recorded 11 tackles @ Sea (9/25), the second most on the team missed the game vs. SF (10/2) due to a left knee injury suffered @ Sea the week before underwent surgery to repair damage in the knee on 10/3 returned from his knee injury vs. Was (12/11) and recorded his first career interception off Mark Brunell and also broke up a pass made his first start since week three of the season and recorded nine solo tackles @ Hou (12/18) missed the last two games of the season due to swelling in his knee.
College:
In four seasons at Miami, was credited with 183 tackles, five interceptions and also doubled as a return man, returning 13 punts in 2003 for 202 yards and one touchdown was not only an All- American on the field as a senior for the Hurricanes, but was also selected as Miami’s ACC Male Scholar Athlete of the Year and received his bachelor’s degree (Sports Administration) in May of 2005 was an All-American choice in 2004 as a senior by The NFL Draft Report, Associated Press, Walter Camp, American Football Coaches Association, Football Writers Association, Sports Illustrated and The Sporting News first team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection ... selected to the All-ACC Academic team and was a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award (best defensive back) and a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award (best defensive player) as a senior, started 11 games at right cornerback, recording 58 tackles with 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery started every game as a junior, recording 51 tackles with a 10-yard sack intercepted two passes and took one back for a touchdown gained 203 yards with a score on 13 punt returns (15.6 avg.) earned All-Big East Conference first-team honors by the league’s head coaches in his first season as a starter at cornerback as a sophomore... credited with 66 tackles while starting 12 games appeared in the Fiesta Bowl for the National Championship vs. Ohio State at Sun Devil Stadium and recorded four tackles appeared in eight games as a freshman, recording eight tackles with an interception and a pass deflection.

Full name Antrel Rocelious Rolle attended South Dade (Homestead, FL) High School Parade All-American choice and rated the second-best prospect in Florida and Dade County by the Miami Herald member of the Dallas Morning News National Top 100 list and was named to the prestigious All-Gridiron Team by Sunshine Network for 2000 . graduated with a 3.8 grade point average in high school recorded 86 tackles and three interceptions, returning one for a touchdown as a senior on offense, he had four catches for 160 yards and a touchdown in 2000 added 85 tackles with three interceptions and broke up five passes as a junior in 1999 when he also returned six kicks (three punts, three kickoffs) for touchdowns. |
