Antonio Fratianni was born in Montreal, Quebec. He earned a B.A. Honours in Political Science and Economics from McGill University, where he also obtained common and civil law degrees. Mr. Fratianni began his career in 1996 as an associate at Byers Casgrain (now Fraser Milner Casgrain). In 1999, he joined the RBC Financial Group's Law Department.
While at RBC, Mr. Fratianni was appointed Senior Counsel in the mergers and acquisitions group within the Law Department. He spearheaded the internal legal work for some of RBC's largest mergers and acquisitions, including the creation of a cross-border joint venture with BMO called Moneris Solutions and the acquisition of Centura Banks, Inc.
Serving as Tembec General Counsel and Corporate Secretary from April 2005 to February 1, 2006, and then as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, Mr. Fratianni provides legal advice and corporate secretarial support to the Tembec group of companies.
