Born in Zara (Dalmatia) on April 3, 1938. Married with two children.
Mr. Concina took over as Head of the External Relations Office at Telecom Italia S.p.A. on November 1, 2006.
Mr. Concina graduated from the Harvard Business School in Boston in the US after obtaining his first degree in Law from the University of Rome.
Mr. Concina began his career at IRI Group company Finsider, where he rose through the ranks and gained sales and public relations experience in Italy and internationally, ultimately taking over as Head of the company's New York and London offices.
In 1974 he was appointed Assistant General Manager of IRI/Alitalia Group company Aerhotel SpA.
Mr. Concina began working in the telecommunications industry in 1981 as STET’s Central Co-director for International Relations and Activities.
In 1987 he served as an Adviser to the Italian Home Affairs Minister (Senator Amintore Fanfani). The following year he returned to STET with responsibility for liaising between the Group and the Italia ’90 World Cup organization.
In 1990 Mr. Concina was appointed SIP’s Head of Institutional Relations. During this time he made a key contribution to issues regarding a new regulatory framework for the telecommunications industry, which culminated in promulgation of Law no. 58/92 a law whose progress through the Italian parliament he followed closely. Mr. Concina went on to help set up a new contact framework for the company’s relations with Consumer Associations.
In 1994 Mr. Concina took over as Head of Telecom Italia's External Relations Department at a time when offices from SIP, Italcable, Telespazio, SIRM and ASST were amalgamated.
He served as Managing Director for Institutional Relations at SISAL S.p.A. from 1998. In 2003 he became Head of External Relations at the RCS MediaGroup (Rizzoli Corriere della Sera).
Mr. Concina is Chairman of the National Association of Alumni of the well-regarded Nunziatella Military Academy based in Naples; he is also Chairman of the Harvard Business School Club of Italy Alumni (Rome).
He sits on the council of the Libero Comune di Zara in esilio (free council of Zara in exile). |
