Mr. Schouten has an eclectic corporate practice, including significant structured finance, private equity fund, corporate restructuring and commodities and derivatives practice expertise. In the structured finance field, Mr. Schouten concentrates on CDO transactions. His fund practice has included representing funds in connection with a broad range of transactions - from formation activities to structuring and negotiating portfolio investments. Mr. Schouten has also been involved in several major corporate restructurings. Clients have included major investment banks, leading fund managers, monoline insurers and energy companies.
Prior to joining Stroock, Mr. Schouten served as a clerk in New York State Court to the Hon. Beverly Cohen and at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg to the Hon. Nial Fennelly.
