As Co-Chief Executive Officer, Anthony O'Brien is responsible for the management of all company operations, personnel and technical development. Prior to joining Cygnus, O'Brien and co-CEO Carr Davis founded FDCH eMedia in 1993. The endeavor produced groundbreaking real-time direct distribution opportunities for business-to-business partners and the creation of new syndication markets for television text for top media channels including CNN, NBC, Fox News Channel and CBS. The company also partnered with the Associated Press distributing exclusive content via the AP wire to international outlets such as Newsedge, Dow Jones, Reuters, Bloomberg and Proquest.Davis and O'Brien sold FDCH eMedia in November, 2004. Following the sale, Carr and Tony founded a variety of transcription, publishing and syndication ventures through ASC Partners, LLC. These include Morningside Partners, LLC, Data Licensing, LLC and interests in Voxant, Inc. and CQ Transcriptions, LLC. In addition, since 2004, both have assisted publishers and other information companies in bringing high value, targeted content products to the online marketplace. These products include FDA Advisory Committee materials distributed through Lexis/Nexis and Factiva, and mutual fund regulatory data for New River, Inc., a provider of online financial compliance solutions to retirement plan providers, brokerage firms and other financial firms. O'Brien was born and raised on Long Island, New York. He attended Harvard College (A.B. Government, Cum Laude 1984) and Harvard Law School (J.D. 1987). He clerked for the Hon. Robert B. Propst (U.S. District Court, Birmingham, AL). He is married, has two children and resides in Baltimore, Maryland. |
