Anthony J. Puglisi is Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Sbarro, where he leads the day-to-day financial operations for the Company’s more than 1,000 restaurants and 11,000 employees. Puglisi, who has more than 30 years of public company financial management experience, handles all aspects of financial and management accounting including payroll, accounts payable, tax, general accounting, cash management and both internal and external financial reporting. Puglisi is also responsible for directing the activities and plans of the Information Systems group, setting computer platforms and systems at both the store and corporate level. Additionally, he directs the activities of risk management, benefits administration and bond holder relations.
Prior to joining Sbarro in 2004, Puglisi served for two years as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Langer, Inc., a NASDAQ-traded company providing biomechanical footcare devices in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Previously, from 2000 to 2002, he held the positions of Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Netrex Corp., a venture capital company with operations in the insurance and automotive industries located in Melville, N.Y.
Prior to Netrex, Puglisi served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Olsten Corporation, a $5 billion Fortune 500 NYSE traded temporary health and home care services company in Melville, N.Y. Puglisi managed the split-out and sale of the business to form the world’s largest staffing services company, and North America’s largest home health services company.
Previously, he spent 14 years with IMC Magnetic Corp., a manufacturer of a diversified line of motors, valves, power supplies and related devices for the commercial, aerospace and defense markets. At IMC, he held multiple management positions before rising to become President from 1989 to 1993.
Puglisi sits on the Board of Directors for China Products North America Inc. and High-Tech Pharmacal, Inc. He holds a BBA degree from Bernard M. Baruch College in New York, and has been a Certified Public Accountant in New York for more than 25 years.
