Anthony Garippo is president of Mid-America Development Services, Inc., a subsidiary of the Crescendo Companies, which provides construction services for Crescendo projects. Garippo came to Mid-Am with more than 21 years experience in the construction industry, most recently with Crate & Barrel in Northbrook, where he was senior managing director of construction .In his 11 years with the company, he was involved in site selection, real estate negotiations, store planning and design, as well as all facets of Crate & Barrel’s national growth strategy including pre-construction, construction and store openings. He also was responsible for expanding the company’s home store concept from 12 to 106 units. Prior to Crate & Barrel, Garippo was a senior project manager at American Classic Voyages Development Corp. in Chicago where he oversaw construction of The America Queen, a $66 million, six-story passenger steamboat in New Orleans. He also has worked forSchal Bovis/Schal Associates in Chicago and New York, and Gelick Foran Associates Architects.Garippo holds a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. and a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago He is a member of the Program Committee for the CenterBuild Conference hosted by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and a member of the Board of Trustees and chairman of the facilities committee for Fenwick High School in Oak Park, Ill. In addition, Garippo is a frequent guest lecturer at Northwestern University in its master of project management program.He currently resides in LaGrange Park, Ill. |
