Dr. Annie Varughese joined eCardio Diagnostics in 2004 as Medical Director. Dr. Varughese is a cardiologist with extensive experience in cardiac arrhythmia diagnosis and clinical patient management. As Medical Director, Dr. Varughese oversees eCardio Diagnostics patient service initiatives and consults with physicians for whom eCardio provides a range of cardiac services, including cardiac event monitoring, digital holter monitoring and pacemaker follow-up. Dr. Varughese maintains an active cardiology practice at Advanced Cardiovascular Care Center in Houston and is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Dr. Varughese’s personal research interests in Hypertensive Heart Disease and Exercise Stress Testing have resulted in several published articles in journals such as Circulation, Physician Sportsmed and Your Patient and Fitness. She is active in several professional societies, including the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Harris County Medical Society and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Varughese is also a frequent lecturer and medical educator at programs around the country on cardiovascular disease. Dr. Varughese received her M.D. degree from the Medical College of Georgia, and served her residency in Internal Medicine as well as fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. |
