Anne W. Hance is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm’s Washington, D.C. office. She is a member of the Health Law Department and focuses her practice on advising health plans, health care providers, and manufacturers of pharmaceuticals and medical devices on federal and state regulatory matters, as well as representing health care organizations in corporate transactions.
Anne counsels clients on a broad range of matters, including the new Medicare prescription drug benefit, Medicare Part D; the Medicare Advantage program; HIPAA privacy and security matters; federal fraud and abuse regulations and compliance issues; as well as general legal and health policy issues.
Anne has co-authored articles on compliance issues under Medicare Part D, legislative developments affecting the Medicare Advantage program and the Stark II regulations highlighting points of interest for multi-specialty physician practices and hospitals. She has presented on various issues relating to the Medicare prescription drug benefit and she is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association’s Part D Task Force.
Prior to entering law school, Anne worked as a health policy and reimbursement specialist for a law firm.
Anne is a member of the American Bar Association, Health Law Section; American Health Lawyers Association; and District of Columbia Bar Association, Health Law Section.
Anne is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia.
