Anne Smith is a nationally known expert in environmental policy assessment and corporate compliance strategy planning. She specializes in market impact analysis, risk management, and integrated policy assessment, and has gained particular recognition for her contributions on the design and performance of emissions trading programs. Dr. Smith has made major analysis contributions on most major air quality policy issues, including global climate change, multi-pollutant policy, particulate matter ambient standards, regional haze, mercury, and acid deposition. In addition, Dr. Smith has considerable experience with risk management for clean up of the U.S. Department of Energy’s nuclear weapons complex, agricultural imports, and food safety. She also helps private corporations devise business strategies to address changing business and regulatory environments. Dr. Smith’s clients have included research institutions, trade associations, private corporations, multi-stakeholder organizations, and governments. Before joining CRA, Dr. Smith was a vice president at Decision Focus Incorporated, leading the company’s policy analysis practice. She has also served as an economist in the Office of Policy Planning and Evaluation at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. |
