Ann Nimmo has over 25 years experience in commercial real estate beginning with Ernest W. Hahn, Inc. in 1982. Working in the corporate legal department for the Vice President, General Counsel, she was involved with the development of major shopping centers throughout the country, including our own Horton Plaza and North County Fair in San Diego. The Hahn Company owned and operated over 50 major shopping centers throughout the country and is now a part of Westfield Malls. She obtained her law degree in l989, attending law school at night while working at The Hahn Company. She was instrumental in the drafting of the standard tenant lease language, both the as is lease and the development lease. This lease is used throughout the real estate industry as model lease language. In the l990 s, Ann worked for McDonald s Corporation as the development coordinator for San Diego and Riverside County. She was instrumental in the site selection process for placement of McDonald s restaurants up and down the I-15 corridor and in the San Diego area. She is a proud graduate of McDonald s hamburger university in McDonald s headquarters in Oakbrook, Illinois. This was one of the most sophisticated classroom experiences I have had, actually as challenging as law school. We learned McDonald s site selection process, and studied commercial real estate principals used throughout the world. It was an unexpected pleasure and opportunity to learn how and why McDonald s is so successful. I have always wanted to be part of a company just on the cusp of national growth and being at Submarina has given me that opportunity. The quality of the product and the energy of our team is something I have never seen before. After experiencing huge corporate structure both at Hahn and McDonald s, where they had already achieved national and world-wide acclaim, it was a goal of mine to be part of a company that was at the ground floor level and contribute to their success and expansion.
