Head of Corporate Communications Ann Bailey was named Head of Corporate Communications in April
2005. Before taking on this role, she was Head of the Global IQP Program Office, where she was responsible for developing and implementing the global Pharma IQP initiative, a project-based performance improvement initiative focused on continuous improvement through new skills and knowledge. Prior to leading the Global IQP Program Office, Ann served as Head of Pharmaceutical Operations France. In this role, she oversaw
manufacturing, quality assurance and logistics for Novartis pharmaceutical products within France. Her leadership led to the site becoming the global manufacturing Center of Excellence for liquids and suppository products, with consistently strong customer service levels and quality performance. Ann began her Novartis career in 1982 with the company's Consumer Health division in the Over-the-Counter (OTC) business. She also served in numerous operational management positions in OTC, Animal Health, Agro and Pharma. Following the Ciba-Sandoz merger in 1996, Ann became Head of Global Quality Operations Americas
Region, where she established a strong relationship and reputation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). She also created the North American Quality Council, responsible for coordinating
quality issues, communication of regulatory issues and development of synergies and best practices among Novartis business units. In addition to the healthcare industry, Ann also has experience in the automotive and utilities industries. Ann has a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, and completed graduate coursework in Business at the University of Nebraska. She is married and has one daughter. |
