Ann D. Murtlow is President and Chief Executive Officer of Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL). Indianapolis Power & Light Company is an integrated, regulated public utility serving approximately 465,000 retail customers in and around Indianapolis, Indiana. Ms. Murtlow serves as Vice President of IPL's parent company, AES Corporation. AES is one of the world's largest global power companies with operations in 26 countries and a global workforce of 30,000 people.
Before joining IPL in 2002, Ms. Murtlow served for six years in AES' regional office outside London, England; first as Senior Project Director responsible for business development in Europe and Africa, then as Managing Director of AES Horizons, Ltd., a subsidiary responsible for operations and development in 22 northern and central European countries. Prior to going to the United Kingdom, Ms. Murtlow worked at AES headquarters in Arlington, Virginia; first as a project developer on a number of U.S. and offshore projects, and then as a project director with overall management responsibility for new business. In these roles, Ms. Murtlow developed an expertise in environmental permitting and policy and served as a liaison between management and the AES Board of Directors on environmental matters. |
