represented a group of hospitals in a $200 million challenge to a federal rulemaking, obtaining summary judgment in the U.S. District Court in a pending case;
defended a major national hospital chain in a False Claims Act lawsuit involving allegations at hundreds of hospitals across the country;
assisted a medical device company avoid prosecution in a criminal investigation involving alleged Medicare fraud;
represented a physician in a criminal and civil investigation involving Medicare and Medicaid billings;
advised companies throughout the health care industry on compliance programs and activities. Companies span the health industry and include health plans, hospitals, pharmacy benefit managers, pharmaceutical companies, medical device companies, physician practices, home health agencies, and durable medical equipment companies;
advised companies on legal and compliance risks presented by off-label marketing and pharmaceutical pricing issues.

Before entering private practice, Ankur held key positions in government, as a federal fraud prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice, and as Counsel to the United States Senate Judiciary Committee.
At the Justice Department, Ankur prosecuted government contracts, securities fraud, and health care fraud cases, including grand jury investigations and federal jury trials.
Ankur speaks and writes frequently on legal matters, and was named Outstanding Healthcare Fraud and Compliance Lawyers - 2007 by Nightingale's Healthcare News.
