Angie Battin became part of the ProNews 7 team in September 2007. She wakes you up with a smile every morning on Daybreak and also anchors the noon news on Midday.
Angie was raised a West Texas girl and attended South Plains College in Levelland as a Broadcast Journalism major. She comes to us from the Lubbock market, where she interned as a reporter and later became a producer for the Healthwise segment at KCBD (NBC).
After being a stay-at-home mom for 12 years, Angie set some goals and decided to go back to school last year to finish her degree. She and her husband have 4 boys, ranging from Kindergarten all the way up to College! Because Angie has been so involved with Youth Ministry in the past, she felt like pursuing her dream of "News" would be a great platform to reach kids in a positive way, as a role model.
Angie says her faith was the biggest inspiration in pursuing her career. However, her instructors and dear friends, John Sparks and Billy Alonzo at SPC, never gave up on her! She feels like they are a big part of why she is here. Plus, if you tell her she CAN'T do something, LOOK OUT! She'll take the challenge!
In her spare time you can find her playing or watching sports with her boys. She loves to watch college football on the weekends, and she cheers for two teams: The Red Raiders and the Huskers (since her whole family is from Nebraska and she was raised right!) And even though she cheers for the Westover Warriors now, the "Battin Bunch" will always be Roughnecks at heart |
