Angelina LaPenotiere is a partner at Carrington Coleman. She practices in the area of labor and employment and her practice includes both litigation and nonlitigation matters. Ms. LaPenotiere has represented parties in administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Texas Commission on Human Rights, and other state agencies charged with enforcement of state laws related to employment discrimination. She also represents parties in state and federal court cases, primarily involving employment discrimination and wrongful discharge claims. Her practice also includes representation of clients in arbitration proceedings, including a defense verdict for a national financial institution in a case involving claims of race discrimination, retaliation, and negligence. Ms. LaPenotiere's nonlitigation practice includes the counseling of employer clients on a variety of matters including the development and implementation of employee policies, termination questions, and a variety of other disciplinary and benefit-related matters. She has also conducted client workshops on sexual harassment and the importance of employee policies. Ms. LaPenotiere has been named by Texas Monthly magazine as a "Rising Star" for 2004, 2005 and 2006. Ms. LaPenotiere was admitted to practice in Texas in 1998 and is a member of the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association.
