Joining Bellingham Marine NZ in Nov 2006, Andy brings with him more than 20 years experience in the marine industry, the majority of which has been gained in SE Asia building and developing world class marinas. A Kiwi national, Andy grew up by the ocean and quickly developed a passion for sailing, which saw him live and work in the marine industry overseas, predominantly in the Pacific and Asia regions with several stints in the Caribbean and Mediterranean. Whilst crewing and skippering yachts, Andy pursued formal Mariner certifications and eventually opted for a land-based position with a high end resort management company, overseeing the development of marine facilities in several of it’s SE Asian properties. He settled with his wife in Thailand in 1993 where he began work in yacht services, which soon lead into employment in both marina development and management. Andy enjoyed a very successful career in Phuket where he was an integral member of the regional industry, holding various positions with marine related committees and associations. He secured his CMM certification in 2001 and relocated with his family to NZ in 2006 where he continues to pursue his passion for marina development. |
