I’ve been up to my elbows in diesel fuel since I started working as a parts man for Chicago-based International Harvester Co. in 1968.
After a tour in the U.S. Army, I returned to IH in 1970 and remained on their team until an independent truck parts company made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. My IH roots ran deep, however, and I eventually returned to the family where I held positions as a parts counter man in the Chicago & St. Paul offices, and a lease manager in Omaha, before they promoted me to truck sales rep. Yep, trucks and International Harvester were in my blood.
Despite all of that, I decided to expand my knowledge by doing a stint with a fiberglass company that manufactured parts for, you guessed it, trucks. When the owners sold the company and it moved out of state, I beat feet back to International where I remained until 2004 when the online auction bug bit me hard.
Today I run the sales division here at Just4Dealers but I also donate my management expertise and coffee-making skills to the day-to-day operation of the business.
