Andrew Kraus is the Chief Technical Officer & Executive Vice President of ICON Medical Imaging. Mr. Kraus has extensive expertise in the design and execution of clinical trials that use medical imaging endpoints to establish product efficacy. His broad base of knowledge encompasses pharmaceutical, medical device and biologic product development. Mr. Kraus guides study sponsors in preparing for and attending FDA meetings, and has prepared and installed medical imaging submissions at the agency. Mr. Kraus’s integrated expertise of clinical development and technical capabilities has produced solutions recognized by the industry as truly unique. His concepts and leadership have resulted in the development of the Alerion TM solution and MIRA TM, which is the foundation of ICON Medical Imaging’s clinical operation procedures. In 1998 he co-founded BioCor, LLC, and in 2001 he merged its medical imaging division into Beacon Bioscience, Inc. (now ICON Medical Imaging), bringing his core technology platform. Prior to BioCor, he served as Manager, Medical Imaging Systems, Bracco Diagnostics Inc. He was responsible for the management of all medical imaging data and empowering the company with integrated review of medical images and clinical documents. Mr. Kraus served as Co-Chair of the DICOM Working Group 18: Clinical Trials Applications, a sub group of the International DICOM Standards Committee, through approval of the Clinical Trials Modules in Spring 2003. He was a member of the National Cancer Institute Biomedical Imaging Program Image Archive Steer Committee, serving on Security/Confidentiality and Physical/Logical Database Organization Sub-Committees. Mr. Kraus is an invited member of the FDA-DIA Medical Imaging Roundtable. Mr. Kraus received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania. |
