Andy Chidester is a Managing Director in the Chicago office of Duff & Phelps, LLC's Investment Banking Group. Mr. Chidester specializes in providing merger and acquisition, private placement and financial restructuring services to private and public companies. His merger and acquisition experience has consisted of providing sell-side advisory services for private and public companies in the middle market across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, business services, outsourcing services and healthcare. His private placement experience has included raising bank debt, senior notes, sale-leaseback financing, second-lien debt, mezzanine debt, preferred stock and common stock for refinancings, acquisitions, internal growth and recapitalizations. His financial restructuring experience has consisted of advising companies and owners in both out-of-court restructurings and in Chapter 11 proceedings, and his services in this area have included out-of-court divestitures, Section 363 asset sales, debt and equity financings, renegotiation of existing debt and equity agreements and debt-to-equity conversions.
Before joining Duff & Phelps in 2004, Mr. Chidester was a Vice President at Brown Gibbons Lang, which provided investment banking services to middle-market companies. Preceding his employment at Brown Gibbons Lang, Mr. Chidester was a vice president in the Midwest Private Equity Group at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein in Chicago. He also worked in the Corporate Finance Group of Heller Financial in Chicago, and was one of the founding members of Heller's Healthcare Finance Division.
Mr. Chidester has a B.A. from Carleton College (1988), an M.B.A from Northwestern University (1994), and an M.S. in accounting from DePaul University (1990) and is a C.P.A.
