Mr. Miller has been a member of the Company’s board of directors since the Company’s formation in 1990. Mr. Miller co-founded and served on the board of directors of Surgical Care Affiliates, Inc. (SCA), one of the nation’s largest operators of outpatient surgery centers which HealthSouth Corp. acquired in January 1996. From 1970 to 1982, when he co-founded SCA, Mr. Miller was employed by Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). During his time with HCA, he was the first president of the HCA Management Company, a division of HCA that grew to manage 180 hospitals. Mr. Miller serves on the boards of directors of several health services companies and was president of the Federation of American Health Systems. Since then he has played a key role in developing numerous health care companies. |
