Dr. Andrew T. Jay - Board Member. As Head of the Medical Solutions Fund at Siemens Venture Capital since 2002, Dr. Jay has closed several investments in the medical technology and pharmaceutical arenas. Two notable IPO's in his portfolio are Animas, a maker of external insulin pumps, and Molecular Insight Pharmaceuticals, a company developing imaging agents for cancer and cardiovascular applications. Dr. Jay previously was an Institutional Investor (ranked medical technology analyst leading) at Wachovia Securities, Alex. Brown and Deutsche Bank Securities covering imaging, orthopedics, cardiovascular, vision, diabetes, diagnostics and neurologic devices. He was instrumental in raising over $2 billion in equity capital for a multitude of companies, published over 10,000 pages of research and bringing over 20 medical technology companies public. He has a B.S. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a D.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School at Northwestern. He is involved with Sequenom and Cylex, and serves on the Board of Directors of U-Systems, MDdatacor, and Molecular Insight Pharmaceuticals. |
