Andrew Slavitt became a director of Capella Education Company in 2007. He is chief executive officer of Ingenix, a global health information and technology company and a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group. Before joining Ingenix in 2005 as chief operating officer, Slavitt served as chief executive officer of UnitedHealth Group’s consumer solutions business. Previously, Slavitt was founder and chief executive officer of HealthAllies, a consumer health care benefits company that was acquired by UnitedHealth Group in 2003. Prior to founding HealthAllies, Slavitt served as chief operating officer and director of Paula Financial, an employee benefits insurance company, as a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Company, and as an investment banker with Goldman Sachs. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School and a Bachelor of Arts in English from The College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. Slavitt is a member of the board of directors of The Guthrie Theatre and Jewish Community Action in Minneapolis and the Hope Street Group and the Center for Affordable Quality Health Care in Washington, D.C. |
