AREAS OF PRACTICE General Litigation Commercial Litigation Health Care Employment Upon graduating from Baylor Law School, Drew joined Looper, Reed & McGraw's litigation section in the fall of 2005. Drew concentrates his practice primarily in commercial and health care litigation REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE Healthcare Litigation Experience Successfully represented healthcare practice and obtained dissolution of temporary restraining order sought by six doctors to require practice to turn over patient files when doctors left the practice. Represented hospital regarding Subpoena from U.S. Department of Justice. Part of litigation team that represented specialty hospital seeking favorable advisory opinion from the Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, that hospital was under development for the purposes of the moratorium affecting the whole hospital exception to the Stark Law. Commercial Litigation Experience Successfully represented technologies company in defeating motion for summary judgment filed by former employee, where employee alleged that company’s non-competition provision in employment contract was unenforceable under Texas law. General Litigation Experience Drafted, argued, and obtained summary judgment in defense of church on claims of breach of fiduciary duty, premises liability, intentional infliction of emotional distress, ratification of agent’s acts, alter ego, and joint enterprise relating to allegations of sexual abuse by church’s minister brought by minor seeking $6 million in damages. Successfully represented and obtained judgment for administratrix of estate in statutory bill of review action filed by two devisees alleging administratrix had not properly distributed estate assets.
