Andrew Powell joined the staff of IRN in 1998. He brings 10 years of experience in systems support and technology development, and has worked as both a licensed technical trainer and Microsoft-certified developer in addition to his systems administration credentials. Andrew spends much of his time working on new technology for IRN, including the design and implementation of Autofutures® Desktop, our growing collection of Internet-based data retrieval and delivery systems, and Autofutures® Forecaster, IRN’s next-generation parts forecasting system.
Prior to joining IRN, Andrew managed software development and network support for a small software publishing firm in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In his five years working there, Andrew managed the development and production of more than fifteen commercial Windows and Macintosh applications. Andrew also oversaw the development and authoring of tutorial, computer-based, and classroom-led training programs which he facilitated.
Andrew’s certifications include MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solution Developer), and MCT (Microsoft Certified Trainer). Andrew’s programming experience includes over ten years in object-oriented development, including Visual C++, Visual Basic, JAVA, and VB Script. He has developed and/or trained for the entire Microsoft Office and BackOffice Suite of products, including Microsoft Access, Exchange, and SQL Server.
Andrew’s most impressive accomplishments are his two children, Reilly and Grace. He, his children, and his wife make their home in East Grand Rapids, Michigan along with two cats, two fish, and a robotic dog. |
