Prior to joining Sepracor in March 2007, Mr. Koven was Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Kos Pharmaceuticals, Inc., which was acquired by Abbott Laboratories in December 2006. At Kos, he oversaw the legal, compliance and quality assurance functions.
From 2000 until 2003, Mr. Koven served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Lavipharm Laboratories Inc., a drug delivery and specialty pharmaceutical company. Mr. Koven served in increasingly responsible roles at Warner-Lambert Company between 1993 and 2000, most recently in the position of Assistant General Counsel, Pharmaceuticals, North America.
Prior to joining Warner-Lambert, Mr. Koven was a corporate/securities associate at Cahill Gordon & Reindel in New York City. Mr. Koven earned his B.A. in 1978 from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, his LL.B. in 1981 from Dalhousie Law School and his LL.M. in 1986 from Columbia University School of Law.
