Andrew A. Quartner has had a varied commercial practice involving a wide variety of financial transactions, including acquisitions, financings, partnerships, and licenses. He served for almost ten years as lead internal counsel for McCaw Cellular Communications, including representing the company in many private placements, bank financings, and the company's initial public offering, private stock sale to British Telecom, tender offer for Lin Broadcasting, complex joint venture with PacTel Corporation, and merger with AT&T Corp. He served in a similar capacity for XO Communications for six years as well. In addition, he has served as General Counsel and Vice Chairman of a privately-held company and as such directed it through multiple rounds of fund-raising, recapitalizations, joint ventures, licensing agreements, and internal affairs such as employment agreements and compensation programs.
Mr. Quartner graduated magna cum laude from Yale College in 1974 and with honors from Columbia Law School in 1978. After graduating from law school, he clerked for The Honorable Pierre N. Leval of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and practiced at Debevoise & Plimpton. He is also admitted to practice in Maryland.
