Dr. Andreas Bauer is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery Rechtsanwälte Steuerberater LLP based in its Munich office. As a member of the firm's Health Department he focuses his practice on advising clients in the health, life sciences, medical device and pharmaceutical industry.
Andreas' practice covers all regulatory aspects such as the licensing of health care providers, clinical research compliance, advertising and marketing of pharmaceuticals, the law of the medical profession or privacy issues. Andreas advised on disease management programs as well as on research and development contracts with academic centers. Besides the regulatory issues, Andreas advises on the related commercial agreements. Furthermore, he works in the field of occupational health and safety.
Andreas earned his Dr. iur. from the University of Leipzig with a doctoral thesis on regulatory issues. He studied at the Universities of Bonn, Lausanne/Switzerland and Munich and served his legal traineeship in Bavaria.
Andreas started his professional career in the firm's TMT group. He then worked as a Personal Assistant to the Secretary General of the Max-Planck-Society, one of Europe's leading basic research organisations. In 2007, he returned to the firm, now working in its German Health Department.
Andreas is admitted to the German Bar. He is fluent in German and English and speaks French.
