Dr. Perrone joined Bio-Imaging as Medical Director in April 2006. Her training includes earning a degree from Georgetown Medical School as well as completing her radiology residency at the University of Pittsburgh. She also obtained a B.S. in Finance at the University of Maryland. In 1999, Dr. Perrone leveraged both her business and clinical experience by joining SurroMed, Inc., a biotechnology start-up company in Silicon Valley. There she served as Director of Clinical Development, participating in clinical research with major pharma, NIH, and academia. Over the course of 6 years, she functioned as both medical advisor for clinical operations as well as directed project management for multiple clinical studies. The studies were designed to identify biomarkers from subject samples applying proteomic and metabolomic platforms in a broad range of areas including autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, oncology, multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease.
Following the acquisition of SurroMed by PPD, Inc. in 2005, Dr. Perrone held the position of Director, Medical Affairs where she supported both business development and clinical operations for biomarker discovery at PPD. |
