Andrea J. Sullivan is a partner of the firm in its Litigation Department. She concentrates her practice in commercial litigation and matrimonial law. In commercial litigation matters Ms. Sullivan has handled cases involving many types of business conflicts including contract disputes, the breakup of business, sometimes called business divorce, hiring and terminating key employees, and protecting employees from competitive offers. In areas of estate litigation and matrimonial litigation, Ms. Sullivan has been involved in numerous situations involving the use of sophisticated business valuations. Ms. Sullivan has a busy practice representing professionals such as accountants, lawyers and dentists in various types of actions from professional malfeasance to claims of fraud. She represents attorneys in cases of alleged professional malpractice. As an adjunct to this type of litigation, she has also appeared before numerous professional boards, such as accountancy, dentistry, and mortuary science. As a result of her litigation experience, Ms. Sullivan is finely attuned to the financial and competitive practices that make companies and individuals successful in business and in the professional world. Ms. Sullivan has been an invited member of the Women Presidents' Organization for the last five years. She serves as a trustee of the Middlesex County Bar Association and as chair of the Association’s Women’s Law Section. She also serves as president of the Board of Trustees of Central Jersey Legal Services and as President of the Middlesex County Bar Foundation, where she serves on the Finance and Scholarship Committees. Ms. Sullivan is vice chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Equity Jurisprudence section and has spoken at the New Jersey Bar Association Annual Conference for the last four years. As a member of the New Jersey State Bar Foundation, she delivers programs on matrimonial law to the public. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey. A graduate, cum laude, of Mount Holyoke College (1982), Ms. Sullivan attended Rutgers University School of Law - Newark (1989) where she was elected to the Order of the Coif and graduated with high honors. |
