Andre has over 20 years of investment banking experience focusing primarily on originating and executing Japan-U.S. mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Sagent Advisors as the Co-Head of the Japan Focus Group in October 2007, Andre was a Managing Director at Daiwa Securities America, joining the firm in 2001 as a result of the merger of The Sakura Bank and The Sumitomo Bank. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President and Head of M&A for the U.S. and Europe at the Sakura Bank from 1993 to 2001, where he focused on engagements by blue chip U.S. and European companies acquiring businesses in Japan, as well as Japanese companies making acquisitions in the US and Europe. From 1991 to 1993, he worked for AEG Corporation, a subsidiary of Daimler-Benz, as Director of M&A, with responsibility for leading and executing AEG’s North American M&A activity. From 1987 until 1991, he worked in the M&A and Private Equity divisions of Charterhouse Bank, one of the premier British private equity firms, in New York and London. Andre received his BA in Economics from Manchester University in 1978 and his MBA in 1988 from New York University, where he graduated top of his finance class and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. |
