Dr Anand Gautam joined Progen in September 2005 with a strong background in the commercial management of international research at various Biotechnology companies and academic institutions. Dr Gautam completed his PhD from the University of London in 1990 followed by post-doctoral training at Stanford University, California, USA. Dr Gautam was appointed a Research Fellow and later a Leader at John Curtin School of Medical Research, The Australian National University (ANU). In 1998, Anand joined Pharmexa, Denmark, as a Director of Immunology and was soon promoted to become a Senior Vice President of Research External Collaboration. In this role, Dr Gautam managed the Company’s internal vaccine research programs, and external collaborations with a number of large and midsize Pharmaceutical companies. As part of his role at Pharmexa, Anand’s responsibilities also included communicating Pharmexa’s R&D activities to potential investors and pharmaceutical industry partners. Upon his return to Brisbane, Australia in 2003, Anand worked as a Chief Scientific Officer at Coridon Private Ltd, Chief Operating Officer for a new start-up company, Dendright and was appointed as an Associate Professor at Centre for Immunology and Cancer Research, University of Queensland, Brisbane. |
