An-Shyang has more than 10 years of experiences in research and development. Prior to joining Medcam An-Shyang was on the postdoctoral research staff at Microsensor R&D Department, Sandia National Laboratories. As a team member of a DARPA MEMS/ETO program, he was responsible for the optical characterizations of the optical MEMS device that was under development. He provided critical feedback on improving the fabrication process, assisted in the development of a MEMS-based optical correlation spectrometer system and designed/constructed a laptop demonstration system for field-testing. From 1996 to 1997, he worked as a consultant for Gratings Inc. where he demonstrated the use of diffraction gratings as an in-situ, non-contact, real-time, high temperature sensor in a Rapid Thermal Processing unit for semiconductor processing. He filed two patent applications process while at Sandia and holds two U.S. patents. An-Shyang received his Ph.D. in Optical Science from U. of New Mexico, Master of Engineering in Engineering Physics from Cornell University and Bachelor of Science in Optics from U. of Rochester. |
