Ms. Banse has overseen the company’s investments in and the development of cable networks including E! Style Network The Golf Channel Outdoor Life Network G4techTV and Comcast’s regional sports networks: Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic Comcast SportsNet Chicago (launching in October 2004) and Comcast Sports Southeast as well as the company’s minority investment in TV One.
Ms. Banse joined Comcast in 1991 as an in-house attorney responsible for programming acquisition. She previously was an attorney with Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP in Philadelphia.
Ms. Banse serves as Secretary of the Board of Trustees for Women in Cable and Telecommunications (WICT) on the Board of Trustees of the Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia and on the Board of Trustees of the Morris Arboretum. In 2003 she was named by Multichannel News as one of the Wonder Women of the cable industry and to Broadcasting and Cable magazine’s Next Wave of industry leaders.
Ms. Banse 45 received a BA from Harvard University and a JD from Temple University Law School. She and her husband and their four children live in Philadelphia. |
