Amelia joined the KRCG news team in September 2007 and continues to keep busy working on stories for the station's website. As an online reporter Amelia is able to deliver news on major events and issues that occur in the mid-Missouri region.
Amelia comes to us from Boston, Massachusetts where she grew up and went to college. At Northeastern University she majored in journalism, and wrote for the school's newspaper the Northeastern News. She also worked as a disc jockey for the college radio station WRBB 104.9. Later on she went to Regis College where she obtained her degree in Management and Communications with a 3.5 GPA.
Before KRCG Amelia worked as a back pack journalist for her local access channel in Massachusetts. She also interned in Washington D.C. in both radio and television. She worked as a producer and correspondent for Talk Radio News Service, an online radio service that delievers stories and sound bites from meetings in the capital buildings and surrounding areas. She also interned at a local news affiliate in the Nation's Capital that allowed her practice on and off the camera.
On her free time Amelia enjoys going to rock concerts, writing and cheering for her New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. She regularly updates her website www.AmeliaWaters.tv, where you can see her stories from KRCG. |
