Amandeep S. Sidhu is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm's Washington D.C. office. He is a member of the Trial Department.
Before joining McDermott Will & Emery, Amandeep was a judicial clerk for Chief Judge Walter S. Felton, Jr. of the Courts of Appeals of Virginia. While clerking, Amandeep was a member of the National Association of Appellate Court Attorneys and was appointed by Supreme Court of Virginia Chief Justice Leroy R. Hassell, Sr. to serve as a task force member of the Commission on Virginia Courts in the 21st Century: To Benefit All, To Exclude None. Prior to law school, Amandeep was a business analyst for the Federal Defense Group of American Management Systems, Inc.
Amandeep also served as regional director of the Southeast region for the Sikh Coalition, leading lobbying efforts in Congress regarding hate crimes, profiling and workplace and public accommodation discrimination. He received the 2005 Virginia State Bar Oliver White Hill Law Student Pro Bono Award and the University of Richmond School of Law's 2005 Nina R. Kestin Service Award.
While in law school, Amandeep was an associate editor of the Richmond Journal of Law and the Public Interest, the Vice President of the Moot Court Board and President of the Student Bar Association.
Amandeep is admitted to practice in Virginia and the District of Columbia. He is a member of the American Bar Association and is involved with the boards of the Interfaith Alliance, the Bonner Center for Civic Engagement, the A More Perfect Union Anti-Bias Project and the University of Richmond School of Law Young Graduates Alumni Association. Amandeep also serves as a pro bono legal volunteer for the Sikh Coalition.
