Amanda joined CrystalVision in February of 2004 after a 6-year engagement building and supporting an Internet presence for a large ecommerce web site where her love for accomplishing the impossible was well-nurtured. She brought with her extensive experience in all aspects of dynamic web applications involving complicated functionality and database connectivity. Since her first home computer (a Tandy), Amanda has enjoyed code, spending many countless hours building programs for her younger siblings (and her own nerdy enjoyment) using BASIC. Having always had a fascination with human languages, it just seemed to follow that computer languages also found a prominent place in her heart, and over the years, Amanda has worked with a multitude of those web-related including ASP, .NET, ColdFusion, Javascript and SQL. Always up for a challenge, Amanda is our resident browser-compatibility expert and enjoys getting modern designs and functionality to work properly in even the oldest of common browsers. Deeming herself an "all-around computer nerd," Amanda enjoys a variety of digital arts, often spending her leisure time with some programming or graphics endeavor. Scripting and problem solving while developing game modules is one of her favorite pastimes (especially if someone tells her that something can't be done). Away from the computer, she is an avid reader, historical and medieval fiction being her favorite genres, and also has a deep interest in etymology. She will rarely be parted from her digital camera and needs a new hard drive just to house all the pictures she's taken! |
