Allyson coordinates SMARTHINKING'S Online Writing Program. As director for the Online Writing Lab, Allyson is responsible for managing online tutoring services in writing; for training and supervising writing tutors; and for supporting SMARTHINKING's research and pedagogical missions. Before joining SMARTHINKING, Allyson taught composition and literature at the University of Maryland for over four years. As an experienced arts program officer, Allyson worked for one of the University of Maryland's primary outreach centers for over five years and coordinated several arts programs. Allyson received her Ph.D. in English in 2006 and her M.A. in 2001 from the University of Maryland. She specializes in American literature, modernist fiction, and narrative theory. |
